The 16 days long Siddivinayaka Mahayagam performed at Chirakkal in Kannur from 17th April to 2nd May 2007. The Chief Preceptor of the Yagam was Sri Vinayaka Chandra Dikshitar, who is also the Tantri of the Sidda Lingeswara Temple at Coimbatore. The Chief Preceptor was assisted by 150 Poojaris. There was continious chanting of Veda hymns by the disciples of Veda Padasala at Tanjore (Tamil Nadu). On an average of 30,000 to 40,000 devotees were given annadanam on each day. Annadanam was followed after Anna Poorneswari Temple. Devotees in abundance participated in the Yaga and offered their offerings. Special poojas like Lakshmivinayaka pooja, Gurupooja, Mrithyamjaya Homan, Saraba Homam, Dambathipooja, Ganapathy pooja, Vidya pooja, Naga pooja etc were performed in presence of crowded devotees.
Several spiritual leaders, swamijees and other dignatories blessed with their presence in t he venue (Yagabhoomi). They include the then chief Minister of Karnataka Hon: Kumaraswamy, Sri Ramesh Chennithala, swamy Amritakripananda puri, Brah: vedamrita Chaithanya of AmritanandaMayi Matt, Suriyan Jayasurian Bhattathiripad of Suriya Kaladi Mana, Swami Siva Bhodhananda of varkala Sivagiri Matt, Swamiji Parampoojya yogananda saraswathi (Uppala), Swamiji Chidanandapuri of Kulathur Adwaithasramam, Swamini Krishna priyananda saraswathy Ambalavayal Wayanad etc. Cultural Programmes and spiritual talks were arranged on all days.
The successful completion of yaga was indeed a token of blessing of Lord Vigneshwara and it was subsequently revealed that this Mahayagam paved the way for the construction of the proposed temple as a divine inspiration..
